Why shia and muslims dont do this to unite and solve their problems?

Why shia and muslims arrange a soecial dua/prayer in every memory of Karbalaa and ask God to punish the killers of hussain instead of the paganist rites shia do in this memory stabbing each other and flogging their selves with a paganist songs on?and stop cursing the sahaba???
