Is this kinda bad that I ignore it?

This guy keeps calling me baby,his girl etc when we aren't even dating and cause I don't know what to say I just kinda ignore it like he said "my baby" out of the blue and I didn't said nothing just changed the sub.(he likes me I know that and I like him too but we are getting to know eachother first) So do I make him feel bad?Like is he waiting for me to say the same thing?
